This memorial to the Holocaust has been designed to create an uneasy, confusing effect.

Located close to the Brandenburg Gate, the memorial comprises 2711 concrete slabs of various heights built on a large sloping site. Arranged slightly askew, there are long, narrow alleyways between the rows where the ground undulates, creating such an uneasy effect.
