Also known as ice wool or frost beard, this uncommon frost forms when a particular fungus on rotting wood is present. The frost can grow up to 20 cm in length and may form into curls.

This was seen beside Loch Lubnaig on a bright winter day & has been presented with a slightly darkened vignette.
